Can I upload Windows Vista on a computer with Windows 2000 Professional?

Q. My computer is a Windows 2000 Professional, and I was wondering can I download (with the disks) to Windows Vista onto the computer?

A. Yes, Windows 2000 supports upgrading to corresponding or better editions of Windows Vista. You can download it legally from MSDN if you have a subscription.

Whats the difference between Windows 2000 Pro and Windows 2000 Server?
Q. I am asking because I want to set up a test network with Windows 2000 Pro to mimic our 2000 Server network. That way I can play with policy's and whatnot without affecting our production server.

Thanks

A. In order to mimic your network, you cannot do it with Windows 2000 Professional. You have to install Windows 2000 Server on a machine and then promote it to a domain controller to install Active Directory. Then you will be able to configure Group Policy for experimenting.

What is a good windows 2000 video editing software?

A. Try MPEG Video Wizard DVD, it works well on windows 2000 and it can do a lot of editing things, such as edit out commercials, add video effects/filters, fix a/v sync problems, make dvd discs and much much more.

How can I delete Windows 2000 after installing Windows XP?
Q. I just installed Windows XP onto my computer that had Windows 2000, and now I have the option when I boot the CPU, to either use 2000, or XP. I'm running out of space, and I need to delete it.

A. If Windows 2000 was pre-installed when the computer was first purchased, you cannot uninstall it. If at any time you had to do a Factory Reset, it would reset to Windows 2000.
Choose whichever you want to use. If you are running out of space then buy a remote portable hard drive and transfer stuff to it that you don't use all the time such as videos and music.
